The search icon on the theme is absolutely tiny, making it inconvenient for users to easily access, it'd be great to have a full size search bar (think Amazon!) - above the main menu, this would make it much easier for users to use the search bar.

Yes, you do not use what you do not see. Amazon is the best example. Our website does 10Million Euro per Month revenue. Guess what is the most “clicked” part of the website? Exactly, the “Search Field” users type directly what they are looking for, users are used to Google and Amazon. Most do not even click on the menu items. And we only have around 1500 products. Every merchant should really know that. A big search field is super important! Please make an option to make it big and notorious, just like amazon. And we’ll love you for that :)

Also for the mobile: I have seen websites were the search bar first appears just under menu and as you start to scroll it "jumps" up and covers the logo. Since the visitor obviously knows where she/he is, covering the logo would save much space on the mobile. Adding a new row for the search bar just shrinks the screen height.
