Cart crashes upon removing a duplicate item

If a customer adds two units of the same item in the cart but changes their mind and click the minus “-“ to remove one item from the cart and go back to only one item in the cart, the cart window crashes all of a sudden and the home page reloads, the customer then needs to click on the cart icon again to resume the transaction of that single item left in the cart. This only happens when decreasing from 2 to 1 item, not from higher numbers like from 5 to 4, from 4 to 3, 3 to 2, but only from 2 to 1.
That’s is a huge pushback before checkout page, will definitely decrease conversions.
